What we take commission on
- Repair parts and tools — screens, batteries, kits. Recommending these fits our editorial position rather than fighting it.
- Accessories — cases, chargers, storage, docks.
- Refurbished and used hardware.
- Genuine product recommendations — only where we’d recommend the thing anyway.
- Software and services we’ve actually tested.
What we refuse
- Recommending anything with under two years of security support remaining. This is a hard rule.
- Rankings ordered by commission rather than merit.
- Untested recommendations.
- Paid guest posts.
Advertising
Where we run display advertising, we block the categories that prey on exactly this audience: “PC cleaner” and “booster” software, driver updaters, scareware antivirus, and similar. Newsletter sponsorship, if any, is a single clearly-labelled slot.
